This project was designed to completely transform the backyard into a functional and inviting outdoor living space built for entertaining, relaxing, and family life.

Working with the natural slope of the property, the Iconic Outdoors team created a series of connected spaces that feel both practical and visually impressive — from large retaining walls and landscaped garden beds through to entertaining areas, pool surrounds, and custom structures.

Custom Retaining Walls & Garden Beds

Large custom-built retaining walls were constructed at the rear of the property to maximise usable space while managing the natural fall of the land. Integrated garden beds with lush planting and privacy hedging help soften the structure and create a more secluded outdoor setting.

Paved Steps & Functional Access

Long, low-profile paved steps connect the different levels of the backyard, creating easy access between the house, raised veggie gardens, children’s play areas, pool zone, and entertaining spaces. The paving was designed to feel clean, modern, and easy to move through.

Steel Pergola & Pool Fencing

A custom steel pergola was installed to define the main entertaining area and provide year-round functionality. Around the pool, a combination of stylish fencing solutions — including glass fencing positioned to preserve the view back toward the home — balances safety with aesthetics.

Fire Pit Entertaining Area

One of the standout features of the project is the large paved fire pit area. Complete with custom fixed seating, this space was designed to become a central gathering point for family and friends throughout the cooler months.

Pool Surrounds & Outdoor Living

The pool area was carefully integrated into the overall landscape design with generous paved surrounds that connect seamlessly with the entertaining zones. The result is a backyard that feels cohesive, spacious, and easy to enjoy year-round.

Drainage & Structural Landscaping

Extensive retaining walls continue around the property, not only creating strong visual features but also helping manage drainage across the sloping block. Every element was designed to improve both functionality and long-term performance while enhancing the overall look of the home.
