This project focused on creating the structural foundations for an outdoor space designed to evolve beautifully over time.

By combining pool decking, custom paving, open lawn areas, and frameless glass fencing, the result is a backyard that already feels functional and inviting while allowing the surrounding landscaping to continue maturing into a lush outdoor retreat.

Every element was carefully planned to balance practicality, low-maintenance living, and long-term visual appeal.

The lawn areas throughout the project were established using Agridark Couch, oversown with perennial rye grass to maintain winter colour and year-round presentation.

Still in its establishment phase at the time of completion photography, the lawn was designed to eventually create a soft, vibrant green backdrop surrounding the entertaining and pool areas.

The open lawn zones provide valuable space for children, entertaining, and everyday outdoor living while helping soften the surrounding hardscape features.

Travertine paving was installed in a custom layout to create multiple connected outdoor zones throughout the backyard.

The paving defines sitting and entertaining spaces while helping improve flow between the home, BBQ area, pool surrounds, and garden areas. As the surrounding planting matures, these paved zones will become increasingly private and integrated into the landscape.

Additional paving beneath the clothesline and service areas helps maintain a cohesive finish across the entire backyard.

Ekodeck composite decking was installed around the pool to create a clean and practical poolside entertaining area.

Chosen for its low-maintenance performance and long-term durability, Ekodeck offers the natural appearance of timber without the ongoing maintenance requirements of traditional decking materials. It also provides added benefits including termite resistance and splinter-free performance, making it an ideal option for family-friendly outdoor spaces.

The decking helps frame the pool area while creating warm contrast against the paving and glass fencing.

To complete the pool area, 12mm frameless glass fencing with deck-mounted spigots was installed to provide safety without interrupting the openness of the space.

The transparent fencing helps maintain clear sightlines across the backyard while allowing the landscaping, pool, and entertaining areas to remain visually connected.

The result is a sophisticated pool environment that feels open, modern, and highly functional.
